Display over other app has been activated. It just suddenly stopped working without any settings changes made.

Could you please check whether inside app “notification” settings you have turned on “Send notifications to WEAR” and uncheck it to see if it makes a difference?
I had it as ‘ticked’ and removed it. Once removed, the screen ON is back to normal. Thanks for your findings.
